In third was Harrison, who held the last podium place despite Davey Todd's (Mlenco by Padgett's Motorcycles/Honda) effort to reach that position. It was the best way to confirm a dominating win, with the rider crossing the finish line 9.618s ahead of Hickman. The best was reserved for the final lap, when Dunlop was the first to break the 130mph barrier in a Supersport lap in history – setting the new record at 130.430mph.
Taking the lead early on, Dunlop (MD Racing/Yamaha) was ahead of Peter Hickman (K2 Trooper Triumph by PHR) and Dean Harrison (Boyce Precision Engr Russell Racing/Yamaha), who fought for the second place. He is now just one win away from the absolute record (26) among the various categories. This afternoon, he dominated the second race of the Supersport category, setting a new lap record at the Mountain Course. Michael Dunlop continues to make history at the Isle of Man TT.
